FUNDED BY: Universidad de Ibagué

ABSTRACT: Some low and middle-income countries are experiencing a nutritional transition where the burden of obesity is shifting toward the lower socioeconomic population as the country’s level of economic and social development improves. Different investigations have been carried out to understand the nutritional transition, particularly using statistical approaches, however, research to understand the dynamics of obesity by socioeconomic status, age, and sex using systemic approaches has been limited. This research seeks to study the dynamics of the nutritional status of the Colombian population at the level of each department, differentiating by age, sex and socioeconomic level.

ABSTRACT: The globalization of markets, together with the rapid and revolutionary advances in information and communication technologies (ICT) have allowed many organizations worldwide to work beyond corporate limits, which has led to efforts to manage and improve the different links in the supply chain. Under this new scenario, traditional project management has begun to change in favor of more collaborative project management, focused on monitoring business processes, with project team members geographically dispersed around the world and who do not belong to the same organization, and based on the efficient and effective exchange of information and knowledge between the members of the project team.

Diseño y calibración de un Sistema de Apoyo a la Toma de Decisiones para evaluar políticas de movilidad urbana en Ibagué

STATUS: Finished

RESEARCH LINE: Sustainable cities and communities

DATE: January 2017-August 2019

FUNDED BY: Universidad de Ibagué

ABSTRACT: The project purpose is to develop a Decision Support System related to urban mobility public policies in the city of Ibagué, Colombia. The system must fulfill certain key functions for managing the complexity posed by the urban mobility problem. A first is educational. The system must facilitate the authorities gradual and continuous learning of this complex mobility problem. But in addition, and due to the fact that various actors are involved in said problem (mayor’s office, municipal council, transport associations, citizens, private sector, academia, etc.), the system must facilitate the participatory design of policies. In the context of Latin American countries, citizen participation is even more important, as it is a way to begin to strengthen our democracies by making them more participatory and deliberative and less representative. The Decision Support System will also be based on three computational models that will allow evaluating the expected results of public policies in the Ibagué mobility system: a model of power relations, a model of system dynamics and an agent-based model.
